Kathryn Ricketts, Building Bags of Stories

Kathryn Ricketts, assistant professor at the University of Regina and the chair of the Dance area in the Faculty of Education, will be presenting her work based on the trilogy of the body, the story and the object and how these sites of inquiry coalesce with a powerful synergy.

Kathryn Ricketts research stems from a methodology she has coined Embodied Poetic Narrative and with this tool she has been able to build robust communities of performative storytellers that disrupt the traditional boundaries between performer and spectator. She works form the premise that objects are potent triggers for forgotten or perhaps hidden stories of our past.
