The McGill Department of Integrated Studies in Education and the P. Lantz Initiative for Excellence in Education & the Arts are seeking committed, talented, and creative individuals who would like to participate in an outreach mural creation inspired by graffiti and street art.
In collaboration with James Lyng High School and local Ys, this project will create a set of murals designed and painted by Montreal youth and by professional mural artists in the McGill Education Building (3700 McTavish).
The creative workshops and mural production will be painted in the Education Curriculum Resources Centre in the McGill Education Building once a week for two hours.
This project will last from the week of October 10th to November 21st, 2016 (exact day TBD).
The final Project will be hung in the cafeteria area, in the lobby of the McGill Education Building during the last week of November.
Start date: Week of October 10th, 2016
Dimension of the mural: The mural will be created on 3 wood panels measuring 40” x 60” each.
This open call is an opportunity to be part of a great collaborative project between local artists and Montreal youth. It builds on existing connections between McGill and other educational sites, establishes a sense for the participants involved, and will create a more lively and colourful environment.
To be involved in this project or if you have any questions, please email Jimmy Baptiste before Friday, October 07 at email@example.com
