Award winners, donors, staff and Education faculty members gathered Tuesday, March 31st to honour students selected for Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards during the 2014-15 academic year. The event marked an opportunity for students to meet face-to-face with the donors who have contributed to their academic pursuits. All in attendance were reminded of the great impact that these generous awards can have on the life, career and development of the fortunate recipients.
Guests were treated to brief talks by Beverly Townsend, incoming president of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, supporter of two awards within the Faculty of Education; Sara Hashem, recipient of the P. Lantz Fellowship for Excellence in Education & the Arts; and Dilson Rassier, Dean of Education. The atmosphere was heightened by the performances of P. Lantz award recipients Naomi Garrett (violin); Amanda Langlois (dance); and Moksha Serrano (vocalist), who sang “O Mio Babbino Caro” from Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.
